Hearing Aid Fitting
Finding the best hearing device for you is just one step in the process. After you have done so, we’ll assist you with the fitting. During the fitting, we’ll make sure it fits properly and is matched to the size and shape of your ear. We will also program them specifically for you. The programming information is based on a prescription taken from a hearing evaluation results. This will ensure the aids fit correctly, look great, and meet your unique needs.
Caring for Your Hearing Aid
We’ll also instruct you on how you can care for your hearing device. Each type of aid, whether a behind the ear or in the canal device, will need to be cared for differently. We’ll cover how to clean them, put them on, remove them, and store them to ensure they stay safe.
Wearing Hearing Aids for the First Time
Using aids for the first time may feel a bit awkward. You may not be used to having something in or on your ear, and the louder sounds may be hard to get used to at first. Don’t worry—this is completely normal. The important thing is to have a positive attitude so you can more easily adjust to these new changes. Our licensed professional will guide you and your family members on realistic expectations, aural rehabilitation counseling, and the benefits of continued use of your hearing aids.
